ECOJOHN SR SERIES ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY INCINERATING TOILETS

The SR series was developed to solve economical and logistical problems in remote waste handling applications; in such applications, there may not be any available sewage systems; septic tanks may not be allowed; or it is simply expensive or difficult to install a standard water flushing toilet. In these situations the SR models are ideal. Every SR model is waterless self-contained toilet that incinerates the waste into a sterile ash that needs to be emptied periodically (dependent upon usage).

ODORLESS

The burning process operates on very high temperatures, which eliminate any bad septic odor. As an option, one can also purchase a special catalytic converter that cleans the outgoing air. With the catalytic converter, a chimney fan can also be purchased, which ensures a good airflow and that no air is coming back to the restroom.

EFFICIENT AND ECONOMICAL

The SR models are extremely efficient and require very low maintenance. On average usage (in a 3-4 people household), the chamber needs to be cleaned out 1-2 times every six months. The toilet can be connected to a regular 5 gallon propane tank, or to a larger propane source. The diesel models come with a 16 gallon diesel tank that can be positioned up to 10 ft away from the toilet.

EASY TO INSTALL

Simply connect the chimney system, hook up the fuel source and connect to a power source (12V DC or 120 AC), and the toilet is ready to use. Whether it is a cabin, guest house, remote commercial application, the SR toilets are great solutions which can improve living/working conditions.

EASY TO MAINTAIN

The SR is equipped with a small water container (1/4 gallon), which can be used to keep the auger and bowl clean. By pressing a special rinse button, one can rinse a little bit of water in the bowl. Special toilet bowl liners are also available for to use: the liners gets moved into the burn chamber with the waste material which helps to keep the auger/bowl clean. A special cleaning lid can be accessed from the outside of the toilet; underneath the lid there is a screw cap that needs to be opened in order to reach the burn chamber. The entire cleaning process only takes a few minutes.

LARGE CAPACITY

The SR5 models are built to handle up to 6 people; the SR12 models can handle 10 people.

SIMPLE TO OPERATE

A short burn cycle (liquid waste) takes about 5-10 minutes, and a long burn cycle (waste) takes approximately 20-30 minutes. If the toilet lid is being lifted up during the incineration it will automatically stop the auger to move and shut down the incineration process. This is one of the safety functions that this model has and contributes to a completely safe and reliable incinerating toilet.

SAFE

The SR series has been carefully tested and approved by various certifying institutions. The latest approval was done by Underwriters Laboratory (UL), which is one of the most credible institutions in the U.S. for product safety. In addition to UL approval, the SR models have also been approved by multiple European laboratories (earning the CE mark for excellence in product safety and design)

ONE YEAR WARRANTY!

Method of Operation:

After the toilet has been used, all waste, liquid waste, and paper gets moved into the burn chamber by an auger. Automatically, a built in burner ignites and starts the incineration process. The incineration process continues until all of the waste material is gone. This process takes about 5-10 minutes for a short cycle (liquid waste) and 20-30 minutes for a long cycle (waste). The SR models can be run off Propane, Diesel or Natural Gas (see technical info)

All SR models are equipped with a control board and display panel that signals when the incineration process is completed. The panel also indicates if there have been too many frequent usages, or if ignition issue needs attention (i.e. out of Propane or Diesel).

Only periodically, the burn chamber needs to be emptied of some ash. The ash is sterile and hence not harmful. The cleaning of ashes can be done from the outside of the toilet; a special cleaning lid and cap to the burn chamber can be accessed from the back of the unit, which makes the cleaning process very easy and sanitary. A standard ShopVac is recommended to use to vacuum the ashes out. In order to keep the auger and bowl clean, the toilets are all equipped with a small water reservoir of about 1 quart of water. By pushing a rinse button, some water can be rinsed in the bowl and auger. Bowl liners may also be used to ensure a more hygienic unit. As an option, a catalytic converter with a fan that cleans the outgoing air is also available for purchase.
